Music Sounds Better with You

"Music Sounds Better with You," with its infectious horn samples, groove-laden bass hooks, and a lusty Benjamin Diamond vocal slowed to a crawl, quickly went from a 1998 Winter Music Conference hit in Miami to a prime mover of dance floors everywhere, becoming one of the biggest selling house singles of all time.

Masterminded by Thomas Bangalter, one half of Daft Punk, the song's a sinful pleasure. Repetition rules the record, with no verse or bridge, only a chorus ("Ooooh, baby, I feel like music sounds better with you," sung by Diamond) to propel the song. Sprinkle a little Stardust and voilà, you have a dance-music classic. --Tricia Romano
